MEASURE YOUR SUCCESS WITH PRECISION USINGOUR INBODY COMPOSITION SCANNER
Body composition is used to describe the percentages of body fat mass, skeletal muscle mass, lean body mass, and percent body fat in the human body. The InBody technology uses Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis (BIA) - a method of measuring impedance by sending electric currents through the body. Multiple electrical impulses are sent through the forearms, legs, and trunk, traveling through the water in the body to measure resistance to the currents. This technology allows us to see the percentage of lean muscle mass relative to the percentage of fat in the body to aid us in creating appropriate and manageable fitness goals for you!
The InBody technology is sensitive to changes in the body, which is why consuming alcohol or exercising the night before can dramatically affect the results of your scan. To ensure your results are accurate, be sure to follow the guidelines listed below:
DOs
Hydrate well the day before
Stand upright for at least 5 minutes
Use the bathroom
Remove all socks, pantyhose, shoes, articles of heavy clothing (jackets) and metal objects (jewelry, watches, belts)
Warm yourself up for 20 minutes if you are testing in cold weather
DON’Ts
Exercising 6-12 hours prior
Eating 3-4 hours prior
Consuming alcohol or caffeine 24 hours prior
Using a shower or sauna
Using lotion or ointment on hands or feet
InBody scans last approximately 15 seconds in total. Once completed, your trainer will print out your results and explain them to you. The results of your scan can help you better understand your body’s makeup so you can work with your trainer to set achievable health and fitness goals.
InBody scans are taken every four weeks to assess the progress of our client’s fitness goals. If you are not a client and would like to have your body composition measured, the price of an InBody scan is $30.
